Chimney Sweeping:
Whatever type of flue you have installed, it will need sweeping. The build up of soot, dust and any small debris will cause your fire to draw less and could result in a chimney fire if you leave it for too long.
Open or log burners need sweeping at least once every year and some wood burners may need sweeping more often – especially if they’re used all year round.
We provide the full sweeping service. Just after Autumn is a good time as it will clear any debris such as leaves, and old nesting.
Fancy a log burner? We can install just the right wood burner in your home, caravan, log cabin or garden house.
We offer a comprehensive range of installation packages, at a very competitive price, to create the perfect fireplace setting for your new log burner.
Choose a beautiful setting for your stove, from a wide selection of products and suppliers; – from marble surrounds, brick and tile cladding panels to faux timber beams – that look the part.
Our HETAS registered stove fitters can undertake all of the associated building works or just install the stove.
Refurbish:
Does your stove need a new lease of life? Does your fire lack lustre?
We can restore your stove or fire to its former glory by repainting the outside, polishing the hearth or reshaping your existing fireplace.
We can also change gas fires to open fires to bring a new warmth into your home.
This ( around 1800s ) cooking stove has been restored to bring it back to life. This St louis Range is made by Dibben & Sons of Southampton and is now in full working order and functional.
Repairs:
Regular use can take its toll – not just on your fire or stove but on your flue and chimney.
We’ll carry out a full inspection to see what needs doing to keep them in excellent condition.
We can repair your stove, replace the glass, re-tile the back, and fix any type of flue.
Keeping the back plate working efficiently will ensure protection between the fire and the wall or surround. We repair both tile and metal backing which is great for reflecting back the heat.
If the cement around your fire seal is loose, or the door is loose on your burner, you could be in danger from Carbon Monoxide leaks. We can carry out the repairs to prevent leaks and keep you safe.
If the inside of your house is smoky, it could be an upward or downward draft issue. Sweeping the Chimney or liner repair usually solves the problem – and we can help with that.
Chimney Repairs:
Your chimney takes the brunt of the weather and can become broken and unstable
Getting your chimney repaired will keep you burning efficiently – and we can do most repairs.
If you have an old and well used chimney erosion can play a major part on the cement and brick structure. This may cause a leakage which can be repaired with an air tight flue. Most flues take 150 and 125 sizes, are the average size, 316 mm the gauge of liner. Commonly stainless steel flexi liners are fitted.
If a build up of foliage is growing out of the side of the chimney or the pointing is showing signs of deterioration, brick work repair may be needed. Bricks and brickwork can get cracked and flashing gets damaged over time. All brick chimneys can be re-pointed and repaired. We replace chimney pots and parts.
Fire Pits:
If you like the idea of sitting around the fire in your garden, why not get a fire pit?
We can help you design your fire pit, supply the materials and do the installation, making sure it’s well sheltered from the wind and has seating built in.
Wood storage and outdoor cooking can also feature in your fire pit design. We can accommodate any design – contact us to get a free quotation.
